Lee-Bauwens Gallery is pleased to present Jukhee Kwon for her first solo exhibition in Belgium.

Saisir l'instant is the artist's attempt to break the linearity of time. With Jukhee Kwon, old books, abandoned, linked to a past era, once transformed, breathe the air of freedom again.

The act of deconstruction that the artist performs on books frees each page in the space, from its initial form and purpose, challenging the visitors's perceptions, giving us to see another image of this everyday object.

Jukhee Kwon's majestic installations and book sculptures take on full, vigorous forms that hint at a sense of lightness and movement, expressing something timeless.

Her works are in private collections as well as the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, United Kingdom.
